There are many things that we don’t know about our own history. Things that we thought we knew, are debunked on a daily basis. The information we have in our history books is mostly outdated, it’s time for a change!

Let’s start with Ancient Egypt. It’s been on my mind for a while now. As a kid, I learned in school that the Ancient Egyptians built the pyramids and the Sphinx. The history books claim that the pyramids are meant to be tombs. Tombs for great pharaoh’s. But did you know that they haven’t found any mummified bodies in any of the pyramids of Giza? What they also haven’t found, are wall paintings of how they build the pyramids. This is very strange because the Ancient Egyptians documented everything they did! So why did they not do this for something as impressive as the pyramids? Just for the record: there have been no wall paintings found within the Great Pyramid of Giza whatsoever. Or what about the stones they used to build the pyramids, they cut those stones with lines so damn straight, even modern day stonemasons have no idea how they managed to do that with primitive tools! Egyptologists and scientists even found ‘drilling holes’ in a lot of stones at Ancient Egyptian archaeological sites. Isn’t that strange? Drilling holes? Really? How? Doesn’t that require some sort of power tool or something? I mean, wasn’t electricity ‘discovered’ somewhere in the early 1800s? So how is it possible that the Ancient Egyptians created those drilling holes? Another fun thing is that there are some Geologists that claim the Great Sphinx must be at least 12000 years old due to water erosion found in the enclosure around the Sphinx. Oh and just for your info: there’s is a huge unexplored chamber within the Great Pyramid of Giza. I read somewhere that they are going to excavate this chamber somewhere in 2019!! Oh and something else they still need to excavate are the unexplored tunnels and chambers underneath the Great Sphinx!

Another archaeological site that blows my mind is Göbekli Tepe in Turkey. This is an ancient ‘temple’ and it’s also estimated to be around 12000 years old. Or well.. They don’t really know the true age of Göbekli Tepe because evidence shows that it was buried (by human hands) around 12000 years ago. This site could very well be much, much older than 12000 years, but they have a hard time figuring that out because someone thought it was a good idea to bury the site 12000 years ago. Strange right? History books tell us that Human Civilizations started around 6000 years ago with the Ancient Sumerians; The first civilization that we know about. So who built Göbekli Tepe if it’s 6000 years older than the first human civilization?

Anyway, what do you think? Is everything we are told in school the truth? Or are you also convinced that there are many things that we don’t know about human history? Let me know in the comments!
